Bonded bridge (tooth with metallic wings)
What is it?
A bonded bridge with metallic wings is a prosthesis that will replace one or two missing tooth/teeth when it is not possible to place implants. A bonded bridge has an artificial tooth and two metallic wings that will be fixed to the adjacent teeth, called abutments, to fix the whole.
Recommendations:
- For people younger than 16 years old.
- When the bone volume is insufficient.
- When the roots of the tooth are convergent.
Previous dental tests:
Panoramic radiography
Steps of the procedure:
The dentist verifies the adjustment of the bridge to the tooth and the aesthetic integration over the abutments. Then, he bonds the bridge in a sterile environment using a dental adhesive. After the adhesive is dry (by polymerization), the dentist removes the excess. Finally, in the next appointment, he will finalize his work by improving the bonding paste.
Benefits:
- It has the appearance of a living tooth and allows the aesthetic restitution of the smile.
- The procedure is performed without anesthesia.
- Great resistance to traction, to torsions and to all occlusion para-functions.
- Redistributes masticatory strength among your teeth.
- Does not need a temporary crown.
Points to consider:
A rigorous and impeccable oral hygiene (toot brushing, inter-dental broses and dental floss around and at the bridge level) define the success to medium and long term of bonded bridge.
Price of a bonding bridge:
250 Euros
